Background

Intella, a rapidly expanding Arabic speech intelligence provider, has collected 12.5 million US dollars in its oversubscribed Series A financing round. The round was led by Prosus Ventures, with support from 500 Global, Wa’ed Ventures, Hala Ventures, Idrisi Ventures, and HearstLab.

Intella is a new hub founded in 2021 by CEO Nour Taher and CTO Omar Mansour and is rapidly becoming a force in Arabic speech technology. It features speech-to-text, voice analytics, and AI-based customer tools to support more than 25 Arabic dialects. The accuracy of the technology of the company has hit the mark of 95.73%, which is one of the best for the company to rely on.

The funding will help Intella expand research and development, strengthen operations in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and grow into North Africa and the wider Middle East. It will also support the launch of new AI agents such as Ziila, an Arabic-first digital assistant that can hold complex conversations. Jumia, Africa’s largest e-commerce platform, recently launched Ziila to power its new voice-ordering feature.

Acknowledging the relevance of the deal, Taher noted that it legitimizes the contribution of Intella to bridging the divide between international AI and Arabic speakers. Mansour added that the company is now building more advanced conversational agents to transform how businesses interact with their customers.

Arabic is the language of millions of people all over the world, which also poses certain difficulties to AI due to its numerous dialects. Intella, using data-driven design, is resolving these issues and building much more robust solutions for the region.

In 2024, the firm increased revenues twice, and 7 times is projected in 2025. This funding round has brought the total Intella investments to 16.9 million US dollars, making it one of the most influential Arabic AI innovators.
