Background

Japan’s NTT Data announced on Monday that it has agreed to acquire Dubai-based cloud consultancy Zero&One, a move aimed at expanding its cloud capabilities across the Middle East and North Africa region.

NTT Data said the acquisition will allow it to offer a wider range of cloud services to clients in the Middle East and Africa. These services include cloud migration, application modernization, cloud-native development, data analytics and artificial intelligence solutions. The company said the deal strengthens its ability to support organizations shifting to cloud-first strategies.

Zero&One was founded in 2017 and operates from its headquarters in Dubai. The company, a Premier Tier AWS Services Partner in the MENA region with nine AWS competencies, including generative AI, used its strong regional presence and technical skills to drive the acquisition.

Burcak Soydan, managing director for NTT Data in the Middle East, said the deal will help the company deliver faster and more scalable cloud solutions. He added that Zero&One’s experience improves NTT Data’s ability to meet growing customer demand in a rapidly evolving cloud market.

The acquisition also aligns with NTT Data’s regional growth plans. The Middle East cloud market is entering a strong expansion phase, driven by digital transformation efforts. In Saudi Arabia alone, the cloud services market was valued at $4.77 billion last year, according to Mordor Intelligence. The market is expected to more than double by the early 2030s. AWS is also planning to launch a new infrastructure region in Saudi Arabia later this year.

Ali El Kontar, CEO of Zero&One, stated that partnering with NTT Data represents the company’s next growth phase, enabling it to expand its services with global backing.
