Background
Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, the sovereign wealth fund of Bahrain, announced a robust financial performance for the year 2025, driven by the solid performance of its investment portfolio and the successful implementation of its long-term investment strategy. The company’s diversified asset mix and the active management gave the company better returns in the year, it added.
The group’s consolidated net profit was BHD592.7 million, up from BHD316.5 million in the prior year. The surge was driven by a 15 per cent rise in revenue of BHD2.5 billion and better investment returns, such as the contributions from McLaren Racing.
With its contribution to Bahrain’s economic development and its ability to provide sustainable financial returns, Mumtalakat said that its performance matched its mission. The leadership emphasised the emphasis on value creation, better governance and alignment to national economic objectives.
Aluminium Bahrain delivered solid results, achieving a higher net profit of BHD218.7 million due to the positive trend in the global aluminium prices and the production of a record 1.62 million metric tonnes of the metal. Stable profits were provided from other portfolio companies, such as the National Bank of Bahrain and Beyon.
The company also made key operational progress. These involved listing Silah Gulf on the Bahrain Bourse, the launch of Amana Healthcare Bahrain together with M42 and the development of a new Food Park project in partnership with Bahrain Food Holding Company (BFHC).
Other successes were a sovereign cloud launch for Beyon with Oracle, record safety awards for Alba and a Formula 1 championship victory by McLaren Racing.
The leadership of the companies said the results are a result of the effective implementation of strategy and active portfolio management. They also said Mumtalakat will remain committed to value creation in the long term and to serve Bahrain’s economic agenda.
