Background
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has become the first exchange in the MENA region to offer official live market data through conversational AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and other large language models.
The move allows investors and market participants to access ADX data using simple questions instead of specialist trading terminals, complex APIs or technical systems.
ADX has launched a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to provide secure and direct access to its market data. The system aims to make financial information easier to access and support wider participation in Abu Dhabi’s capital markets.
Users can retrieve real-time information such as market depth, bid-ask spreads and trading activity. The data also includes retail, institutional, foreign and local investor flows. Users can access financial disclosures in XBRL format, along with index constituents and other market information.
There are four options that come with this service, ranging from the free option to the one priced at AED 49.99 per month. These plans have varying restrictions on usage, data refresh periods, history and connections.
Fintech companies and research firms can use the data to develop analytics and AI-based tools. Brokers can build AI trading assistants, while institutional investors can access detailed market information. Retail investors can use natural-language questions to find official ADX data.
ADX said the initiative will improve access to market information and support greater financial participation. It also strengthens the exchange’s efforts to build a more technology-driven investment market in Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE.
