Background
Binance has launched bStocks for eligible users in Bahrain, expanding its platform beyond cryptocurrency by offering access to tokenised US stocks. The company said the move supports its goal of becoming a financial super app that combines digital assets and traditional investments in one platform.
With the launch, eligible Binance Bahrain users can invest in selected US stocks through tokenised securities without leaving the Binance ecosystem. The company said bStocks are designed to make investing more accessible and flexible while using blockchain technology.
The tokenised securities are issued by BTech Holdings Limited, a Binance group affiliate, and are designed to mirror the price of selected US stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Each token tracks the value of an underlying share held by a regulated custodian but does not provide direct ownership of the stock.
Users can start investing with as little as $5 and trade around the clock. Supported bStocks can also be transferred to compatible BNB Chain wallets and used in compatible blockchain applications. Binance said stock splits and dividend-related adjustments will be handled automatically.
At launch, the platform includes tokenised versions of shares linked to Circle Internet Group, Micron Technology, Nvidia, Sandisk and Tesla.
Tarik Erk, Head of MENAT at Binance, said the launch is another step in building a platform that offers users a wider range of financial services in one place. He added that tokenising US equities makes investing easier and more flexible while connecting traditional finance with blockchain technology.
Binance said the addition of bStocks strengthens its growing financial ecosystem by allowing eligible users to manage cryptocurrencies and selected US equities through a single account.
