Background
Dubai Chambers has intensified its initiatives to improve economic relationships with British Columbia in Canada by conducting several meetings in Vancouver aimed at creating new avenues of trade, investments, and businesses in the two jurisdictions.
The discussions were around fostering the growth of Canadian companies that want to enter Dubai and the Middle East market region, and also creating collaboration in innovation and investment. The meetings formed part of a broader visit by a Dubai Chambers delegation to several Canadian cities and provinces.
The delegation visited members of business development, economic growth, and entrepreneurship organizations during the tour, such as Launch Academy, Invest Vancouver, the Business Council of British Columbia, the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, and the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
The talks highlighted opportunities to build stronger commercial links and encourage collaboration in key sectors. Participants also examined ways to help businesses leverage the strengths of both markets to support growth and market expansion.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, said the organisation remains focused on expanding Dubai’s international partnerships and reinforcing its role as a gateway for companies seeking access to regional markets. He noted that closer cooperation with British Columbia’s business community could create new opportunities for trade and investment.
Meetings with Launch Academy explored support for startups and entrepreneurs, including ways to help Canadian technology companies access opportunities in Dubai. Invest Vancouver was consulted about investments and business growth in both territories.
Another meeting took place with the Business Council of British Columbia with the aim of boosting economic ties and interacting with companies that have plans to expand to the UAE and the entire Middle East region.
