Background

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) largest property portal, Property Finder, has secured a strategic funding round of $525 million. Permira was the lead investment, with Blackstone Growth becoming a major investor. The investor General Atlantic, which had invested in the company since 2018, partially left but is still a large shareholder.

This investment enhances Property Finder to be a key digital platform in the UAE and MENA property market. The company provides a large variety of property listings and provides people with the possibility to buy, sell, and rent houses with the help of modern technology and AI tools.

Michael Lahyani, CEO of Property Finder, said the investment would speed up the company’s growth and improve its technology. He added that the platform will hire 200 more engineers by 2027 to strengthen its services.

As the UAE real estate sector is currently estimated at $160 billion, and it is projected to increase by approximately 13% in the upcoming five years, Property Finder plans to increase its market share. The platform aims at providing easy, transparent and efficient services to its users.

David Erlong, Partner at Permira, said the deal reflects strong confidence in Property Finder’s technology and market leadership. Paul Morrissey from Blackstone Growth said they support the company’s plan to make property search easier for consumers and businesses.

This investment highlights the growing importance of digital tools in real estate, helping Property Finder meet the needs of a fast-moving, tech-focused market in the region.
