Background
The UAE International Investment Council (UAEIIC) has highlighted two new investment tools designed to help its members identify and assess opportunities in international markets.
The tools were presented during the council’s third board meeting, which also reviewed progress on key initiatives and plans for the rest of 2026. The council is focusing on practical ways to direct Emirati capital towards strategically important global markets.
The first tool, the UAEIIC FDI Dashboard, provides data on global investment activity across countries, sectors, investors, investment types and time periods. It allows users to track investment values, deals and future pipelines. The platform also provides downloadable country reports covering UAE outward investment.
The second tool is the Investment Potential Reports suite. These reports assess promising investment opportunities in priority international markets and identify sectors with strong growth potential and alignment with UAE investment interests.
The reports examine factors such as market size, demand, government policy, competitiveness and investment activity. The council uses official and open data sources to provide a detailed basis for identifying and prioritising investment opportunities.
Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade and Chairman of UAEIIC, said the new tools will give council members stronger data, market intelligence and insights to support investment decisions. He said the council is moving from institution-building towards executing its international investment strategy.
The UAE’s Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) programme has reached 38 agreements since its launch in September 2021, with 18 currently in force.
The country’s non-oil foreign trade reached AED1.937 trillion in the first half of 2026, creating a stronger commercial base for UAE investors expanding overseas.
