Background
By purchasing a majority share in Technomax Middle East Engineering and Technomax Industrial Services, both of which are headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, AES Engineering has increased its footprint in the region. Following the acquisition, the companies will operate under AVT Reliability Middle East and North Africa, a newly established business within the AES Group.
The acquisition is part of AES Engineering’s ongoing global expansion strategy and follows earlier investments in the Netherlands, Canada, Australia and the United States. The company said the latest deal will strengthen its ability to provide advanced reliability services and digital solutions across the Middle East and North Africa.
Technomax provides monitoring and reliability services to industries including oil and gas, power generation, municipal water and desalination. The company specialises in machinery monitoring, foundation and structural reliability, and crane monitoring services. It also supports customers across onshore and offshore industrial operations by helping improve plant reliability and optimise rotating machinery performance.
Through the acquisition, Technomax customers will gain access to AES Engineering’s wider portfolio of reliability technologies. These include Machine Sentry, a cloud-based condition monitoring platform, and EasyBrace, a structural vibration reduction system designed for small bore piping.
Technomax Founder and Managing Director Shebeaun Sherief said AES Engineering was chosen because of its shared values, customer focus and long-term vision. He added that the partnership would combine Technomax’s regional expertise with AES Engineering’s global capabilities to support future growth and deliver more advanced engineering solutions.
AES Engineering Group Managing Director Chris Rea said the acquisition supports the company’s strategy of expanding its reliability businesses globally while strengthening its services for customers across the important Middle East market.
